VWP's project and research activities are internationally and collaboratively aligned. VWP has already participated in EU co-financed research and demonstration programmes. As part of the 5th EU framework research programme, the plan is to establish select rural model regions with 100% renewable energy for heat, electricity and mobility in four EU countries from 2002 until 2005.
VWP's task was the development, installation and monitoring of six plant oil compatible SENERTEC cogenerative units, as well as a fleet test with about 20 plant oil compatible vehicles and tractors. The assignment also included the creation of a plant oil infrastructure for fuel provision (sustainable plant oil cultivation, mixed crop cultivation, oil mill, fuel station etc.).
